Dunlop Wintersports in the 6 inches of drifting snow we received did not create any sort of problem. I was more wary of other drivers than I was of the car sliding around or getting stuck.

Question for the Chicagoland people - how are the roads into the city?
City streets were really bad last night all night, they finally had the main streets clear by this afternoon. i was surprised that even the main streets werent plowed well. Even with my Snowsports I was sliding around pretty good, even driving conservatively

chicago's good on the big streets, the little streets not as nice but fine, especially if you have M3s (what i have). i'm probably at 30-50% tread and didn't really have any problems except for trying to park in my garage...a snow drift had developed while i was at work and i didn't feel like shoveling when i got back. made it in in about 5 min

If you care about your wife get her some winter tires man. I drove mine today with blizzaks and it was great. But on summer tires, you're asking for trouble.
Yeah definitely. I have a better sense of traction limits based on some race experience I have, so I let her take the 4Runner and I took her car.

We just got the car a little over a month ago and I'm still reading up on the Lexus forums on winter tires and their tire pressure monitoring system. It's not as easy as we thought, and we couldn't get them before the storm. I'll definitely get them tho.

I drive my car every day, year round.

I also push my car hard on a common basis.
