WMHM 12 Gingerman
Question:
Anyone ever look at the speedometer during the long straight away while running anti-clockwise? I could only reach 109mph on my stock AP2 except for the intake. Cause mustangs are pulling away from me pretty quick everytime on the straight, wonder how fast you guys reach at the straight.
In addition, it's just maybe my car has no aero-modification to it, I can actually felt the lift on the incline right before the U-turn. Is it just me or you guys felt the same thing too? Or any aero stuffs you guys put on help and make a difference on stability?
THanks, see you guys there later this year.

All I know is 107 was the best I ever remembered getting on the back straight going the normal rotation, and I think Sam hit 111 when I was with him. Greg had no way of knowing what he hit (IIRC), but holy hell it was fast!!

It's not abnormal for a mustang to pull you on the straights....that's not how you drive the S. The S makes up all of its time in the corners.
The car will feel light at times on track. Going into turn 10 clockwise, the car will get light, especially going down the hill, even with aero. That's just physics.
Keep in mind that your job as a driver is to balance weight. That's the key to understanding car control on track and how to get the car to do what you want it to do. You can go blazing into a turn, slam on the brakes, and turn the wheel - the rear end won't have any traction because all the weight is on the front, and even more so, the front right/left depending on which direction you are turning.
Aero can help some, but is not necessary. I can tell you that I felt a big difference after adding my wing at the end of last season. I dropped some decent time after adding it, but my comfort level at Gingerman probably had something to do with that as well.
Just a little food for thought, if you're using your stock speedo to judge speed at ~110, you're probably not getting that accurate a reading. At that speed tire brand/size/wear differences (not to mention possible speedo calibration differences??) are all going to contribute to error; so comparing 111 to 115 to 107 between different cars is really probably not too worthwhile.
