um..Kamron..I'm pretty sure you have a photo you posted on facebook of how fast you were going......

Motoo, I don't know why you're calling BS, that 169 mph top speed that I logged just proves how much error there can be.

...unless you thought that was real

Motoo was telling me about this about a month ago, finally stumbled upon the thread. The track layout looks fairly simple, not much in elevation changes. Im definitely interested in coming now! How do the guys running the event deal with so many cars? There looks like there are 50-100 cars there!

The cars are split up into 5 groups: Beginner, Intermediate 1&2, Advanced 1&2. You will typically have 15-20 cars out on the track at a time, which is not that bad. You are going to have fast/slow cars in every run group, so always keeping an eye on your mirrors as well as being patient when waiting for a straight to pass is important.

Ok well that sums it up pretty well then. Passing on straight only it seems, which I like. Do people get moved up or down in the groups, based on how they are running throughout the day?

Typically the answer is no. The only exception may be if you start in beginner and really shouldn't be (and your instructor recognizes it), then you and your instructor could talk to the guys who run the event and see what they could do. Also, in the beginner group, you can have your instructor "sign off" on you so that you can drive alone on the second day.

The track is big enough that you usually don't have too many issues. Most people are good about letting you pass. If they aren't, you can run into the pits and ask to be let out with some room and Chrissy (race control) will take care of you.

And passing on the straights works out well. It is meant to be safe and fun learning environment for drivers of all levels, and so far it has lived up to that.
