Can't seem to find the memory card with my Saturday videos I hope they turn up. I still have all my Sunday videos though and I'll post something up soon.

I counted a total of 12 S2000's (+ at least 1 former owner).
Phil - good seeing you as always. Hope you were able to work on that heel-toe.
What was your best laptime?

I can put about 8 screen names to the S's that were there who were the other four?

Kamron - Kamron
Pruhnke - Phill
Patinum - Pat
sw05s2k - Sam
Simpleman - ??
Black Betty - ?? met but forgot your name sorry about that.
Jeggy - Phong
B serious - ??

Never worked on the heel toe, it seemed as though I got out there and stayed in third gear all day long.

I could consistantly get into the 1:38's and popped into the high 1:37's a few times (no traffic, minimal mistakes).

Trying to remember who everyone is, what they are driving, and where they were running:

Kamron - Kamron - silver - Intermediate 1
Pruhnke - Phill - yellow w/hardtop & wing - Intermediate 1
Patinum - Pat - blue CR - Advanced 1
sw05s2k - Sam - black with indy car stickers - beginner/intermediate 1
Simpleman - ?? - multicolored
Black Betty - Mike - black s2k - Beginner
Jeggy - Phong - scratched up - Beginner
B serious - ?? - black s2k - Advanced 1
??? - ??? - laguna blue - instructor
??? - ??? - yellow - ???
2 more s2000's because i counted 11 for the parade lap + jeggy
??? - Clif - blue sti (owns an s2k as well) - instructor
berner9 - Andy - former owner - came to spectate

3rd really works well for an AP1 on Gingerman IMO. Last year I started downshifiting into 2nd every now and then but I was really trying to get every last bit of performance from the car.

I found downshifting into 2nd just upset my rythm more, esp with no braking markers. That was hard enough on its own. In the end I think I just need some more time out there in the S and a better tire setup and I would be golden.

^ I kept downshifting to 2nd for turn 11, I probably should have left it in 3rd and taken it a little faster, but I just couldn't get myself to do it, the tire wall & barrier scared me a bit.

By Sunday I was upshifting to 4th between turns 2 & 3, 3 & 4, 10 & 11 and 11 & 1. On the back straight I got up to 98 and on the front straight I saw 100 a couple of times.

I think the highest I saw on the back straight was 97.

It was around the same (95-97) for the front straight.

My AP1 is slow . lol. I hate to admit it, but it seems that every track event I go to with other S2000s, AP2s seem to pull away a bit on straights.

I did, however into 4th between 10 and 11, 11 and 1, and between 3 and 5.

Bserious - Sarosh - Black AP1 with ADVANs in Advanced1.

AP2's will pull on you on straights, all things being equal. A better mid-range torque band and gearing will do that.

At Gingerman, you should (all this is only my opinion) see higher speeds on the straight between 10-11 than 11-1. If you aren't, it could be:

It's a little harder to focus on the top speed you're hitting as you brake for 11 since you're thinking of the guardrail. You may be looking at the speedo a blink before you hit your top speed.

Work on turn 10. Even on decent street tires, if the conditions are good you should be able to carry enough speed in an AP1 to remain in 3rd and not drop out of vtec.

Clark - any tips on 10? It's the most important turn on the track and I still feel I'm not taking right after all these years.

I feel funny giving you advice Pat, as you're pretty damn quick.

I can tell you when I do it wrong, it is because I either over-slow (I'm terrible about picking braking and turn in points, I pretty much do it all by feel) and/or turn in too early.

They are actually often linked (in general, not just in this case) in that if you brake too early for a corner, then once you're down to the 'right speed' for a corner you naturally are ready to turn-in, in which case it's too early.

I find when I do 10 well, my braking and turn in are good (use the whole track) and that I'm at full throttle prior to apex (this applies almost all fast corners to me). It 'feels' like the rear is gently rotating, and to some people they might be worried it's going to come around, but you just have to 'know' that the rear end will be there for you if you keep committed to the throttle.
