Default Selling My S2000

Well guys, it's time to sell my S2000 while the weather is good. I usually get into something new every year or so anyway, and it's about that time.

Initially I was considering an STi, but I realize I'm tired of making $700/mo car payments so I've been looking into something cheaper. Right now the 2 cars I'm contemplating are the RSX-S and the WRX sedan. I always said I'd never be caught dead in a sedan, but OTOH - I don't think I could get behind the wheel of another FF Honda (my s2k is my 5th Honda) after experiencing the RWD love in the S2000.

Which brings me to the Subaru camp -- everywhere I read says they're just as reliable as Hondas, and I really think it's time for me to get something boosted.

I did test drive the WRX, and while noticeably slower than the S2000, the car has a ton of potential. I'm planning on COBB stage 2 as soon as it's been broken in, and received it's first oil change.

Anyway, I'll still be around here -- I'd love to keep going on group drives with you guys. That is, if you'll let my ugly ass sedan tag along

I've got photos up online @ S2000ForSale.com -- If you know anyone interested, let 'em know about it.

Check out the Legacy GT. It's superior to the WRX in every way.

Sorry to hear about this, but I guess it will be for the better. The WRX's are somewhat reliable, the '02-'03's have had quite a few problems, most of which have been worked out, but the tranny still is kind of weak in the WRX. I'd suggest an STi tranny as it is a bulletproof tranny. The new Legacy GT has the 2.5L based on the STi motor and with 250HP will get you moving, not as quick as a WRX, but the ride will be nicer and the interior quality better.
The RSX-S is quite the fun car too, it handles great, the interior is asthetically pleasing, takes mods well, and it's a Honda. My step-dad has one and after driving it for awhile, I wanted to trade my STi for it for a week...much longer and I'd miss the power too much, but it's still a great car. Personally, I'd go with a Legacy GT though. Good luck and keep us updated.

I've thought about the Legacy -- it seems too much like mid-sized sedan for my tastes. If I'm going for four doors, I'd like it to be as small as possible, without going econobox -- I still want a nice fast car, not a damn Toyota Echo :/

I don't think the Legacy GT's motor was sourced from the STi -- isn't the Legacy sporting an H6 rather than an H4?

No. The 05 Legacy has the 2.5L NA 168hp motor that's in the impreza rs, and forester, and other cars. The GT has a detuned version of the STi motor with 250hp 250tq. The Legacy Outback is available with the 2.5L NA engine, the 2.5L turbo, and the 250hp H6.

I drove a Legacy GT 5spd last Friday, and while it's a little larger than the wrx it's a better car. It has better brakes, not as much understeer, more power, faaaaar better interior, and the tranny is far superior to the wrx's. I'm thinking my celica replacement is going to be a new legacy GT.

Sorry to hear the sad news. I'm sad to say that I cannot condone the purchase of a Subaru(no offense to anyone and I love how fast Trent's car is). I think they are some of the ugliest cars I've ever seen, potential or not, and could never buy one. Not to mention I had to drive a subaru station wagon when I was 16. I liked your other choice of the RSX-S, as that is what my wife drives. The only thing I don't like is the 16" wheels with the hard tires, but they'll have to be replaced some day . Anyways, good luck selling the car and you are always welcome on group drives as we need as many participants as we can get(what did we have last time 4 or 5?)

Have you at least driven the RSX-S? Or how about upgrading to the S2000's cousin...nsxprime.com ? Keep us posted.

No luck -- I've got my website setup to report to me whenever anyone views, and it's been going like gangbusters. However, I haven't had any bites unfortunately.

hmm.. interesting.. Because I'm going to be getting rid of the s2k very soon, and was pondering selling it or just trading it in. And if you were getting lots of interest I may sell it, but it doesn't seem like it. So I think I'll be trading it in. Less hassle
