Also, isn't the TCT noise an AP1 problem?

Not to sure if it is an AP1 or an AP2 issue.

But bottom line is, if you DD your car then almost any oil will be good enough as long as you get a quality filter like an OEM, Napa Gold etc.

If you really want to push the oil change schedule, then get a use oil analysis done to see what type of oil change interval is good for you.

For normal DD, gasoline dilution of the oil is what will kill it as the car is not up to proper operating temps to burn off the excess gas that is mixed into the oil.

For me, I either use Rotella T 5W40 or Penzoil Platium (which ever is on sale or that I have stocked up on) along with a new OEM or Napa Gold filter. Some times I wait till 8000 km's to do the oil change, and sometimes I have waited till 10K to do the oil change. So far so good.

TCT problems can happen on AP1 and AP2.

I used Mobil 1 in my car for 20,000kms or so, and had no issues. You'll be fine driving the car until the next change. I switched to Redline recently since with autocross use the 10W30 was breaking down according to Blackstone Labs. I'm going to do an analysis of the Redline on my next change.

I would think if your are changing your oil as per schedule (A and B maintenance) then any oil really should do the trick. (says the guy using Royal Purple). Really I use it cuz that was what the original owner was using so I continued.

If you follow the oil change schedule as per the owner's manual, then regular oil should be fine. If you are running a synthetic like RP, then you can extend the oil change interval, but by how long will depend.

Since a lot of people complain about the high gas prices, I would figure extending the oil change period might not be a bad idea especially since you can save money and reduce the amount of oil being unnecessarily used since it takes quite a bit of energy to recycle used motor oil.

All it take is $35ish to have Blackstone Labs do their thing on the used oil.

this is a little off topic but, im getting pretty harsh cold starts recently. the limiter bogs at 1k rpm for a bit, before the car starts properly. This only happens when i first start the car after parking it for the night or after i get off work. When i turn off the car and try to start it up again it starts up like it should. This has been going on for a while and its getting a little worse lately.

Im wondering if this is cause i need to change my engine oil or something along those lines. Right now im just using factory oil and im almost due for an oil change.

How old is your car's battery? Most Honda's use smaller batteries that usually die betweem 4-5 uears.
