For those of you interested, I got the new BFGoodrich g force Super Sport A/S installed yesterday. My rear tires were completely worn and my fronts (so I found out) were also shot. They looked great from the outside but the inner tread was really worn right at the sidewall and the tread.

I read about reading the sidewalls on the tires and from what I understand as long as the numbers are the same, the "profile" of the tire should be the same but I to me these tires seem a bit higher and they also seem to have a bit more sidewall than the R050's. It may be just that all seasons have a bit more tread, not sure. With this extra sidewall my first impression is I get a bit more roll in the turns than I used to, but this is not significant. It might be if I was on stock shocks but the coilovers compensate for roll very nicely.

The new tires also seem to be very quite over the stock tires but I attribute this to the amount of wear. These new tires don't seem to be as square, they are little more rounded in my opinion. Visually this is not as appealing as the stock R050's but the quite. smoother ride may be worth it.

The car was feeling like it was swaying a bit on the tar snakes or wet, that is gone from the front (again probably tire wear). The "kicking out" of the rear that I was feeling is still there but just noticeable, nothing like it was. This as I am told is the low profile tire and it just happens. Having no treads though was definitely magnifying the feeling.

I haven't taken them out on the highway yet but did do some twisties and the tires seem to perform fairly well. All seasons should be great in the wet weather that we get on the island during the winter as I am told these are excellent wet tires.

I would recommend these tires for anyone looking for a high performance all season tire. The price was 860.00 Installed and balanced with all taxes and levies. There were installed on the spot (took about 45 minutes). I had this work done and the tires ordered from West Cost Tire on Sooke Rd.

Just ordered set of of Hankook V12 215/45/17 245/40/17 from DTD for $420 shipped. Someone's bring it back from Seattle, hopefully no tax.

I will try to get the $50 rebate as well.

Overall, the 215/245 tires will weigh less than the 225/255 setup, but the difference in weight is marginal. The smaller tires will also be the same size as the stock AP2 tires. It just might be a cost saving move or aftermarket wheel move as the smaller tires will offer a little bit more room to avoid rubbing.

Ok so Tire Rack says that they have a $120 shipping fee direct to Canada for Blizzak LM-60s. They also say that there will be no other fees collected by the UPS guy.

Shipped to Pt. roberts is $58. Plus tax, plus $20 for storage at TSB ($5/tire)

So is it actually cheaper to get it shipped directly to me? Somehow I think that that is unlikely.

Storage fee is $5 per package. The way TR wraps the tires, 2 tires = 1 package.

I'm not sure what is included in the $120 that TR is charging.

Take a look at Costco in November. My sources tell me they are doing the $70 off for 4 tires, which includes snow tires, and right now they are farely competitive (read as better) in pricing with the US.

Their tire selection is pretty lousy. They don't have any winter tires for our cars. Maybe its just the online catalog so I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Definately give them a call. Their online selection for most things stink.
