Engine light >.<
If it's the gas cap tightening issue that is causing the CEL light, u have to drive the car another 3 times before the code/CEL light disappears (this is what the manual says). For me, when it happened, I drove the car 3 times after I re-tightened the gas cap. What does "3 times" mean? Well, for me, it actually took a full 24 hours of driving, parking, car cools down, then driving again...3 times. Eventually the light did go away and didn't come back. Hopefully this sheds some light into your situation.

DO NOT. And I repeat, DO NOT reset the ecu until you have pulled the codes for whatever it is that is causing the CEL.
I never intended to reset the ECU / clear the code before I pull it and know what the car is trying to tell me
Another thing is that I am not quite sure if it's the gas cap thing. The CEL came on almost a full week after I last topped up gas; also that I always click it many times (like 10 clicks!) every time I gas up so it's unlikely that I didn't tighten it enough. It could still be a seal issue that the cap may have developed... I will find out best by pulling the code(s).
So anyone can tell me if Lordco is good for pulling the code(s) for free?
uer engine light will go away on its own if a fault is not detected durring 3 consecutive worm up cycles.
if the fault is permanent the engin light will stay on uer dash.
engine light relates to emissions.
u should find out what code is stored and continue the proper diagnostic procedure
btw uer gas cap is tight with 3 clicks

BTW, for aircare purposes, you will need to reset the ECU before you go in for testing.
Even if the issue has been fixed and you drove around and the CEL light is off, OBDII will remember all CEL's and when you go in for testing, they will plug in an OBDII reader which will give them that recorded trouble code plus a bunch other readings from various sensors.
