BTW, for aircare purposes, you will need to reset the ECU before you go in for testing.
Even if the issue has been fixed and you drove around and the CEL light is off, OBDII will remember all CEL's and when you go in for testing, they will plug in an OBDII reader which will give them that recorded trouble code plus a bunch other readings from various sensors.

if the fault is not detected after 3 worm up cycles there will be no engine light and the code will be stored as a temporary truble code. u can clear a temporary code and it will not be stored.
just take it to the dealer tell them u left uer gas cap loose and can they please clear the code for u. iv seen many times ppl dont get charged for gas cap codes.
or just get an after market obd 2 scan tool and clear the code uer self.
i do not suggest sticking any foreign material into uer obd2 interface (such as a paper clip) especially if uer not sure what u are doing.

The CEL came on the afternoon before I headed out! Bugs me like hell that I don't know what triggered it and I had to leave it for a week, dang >.< but I am enjoying my long-awaited and overdue vacation though, haha...Thanks guys for all the input so far! I'll update as soon as I have more!
Cheers!

Do you have the codes scanner? (NOT a paper clip!!!)

Basic OBD2 readers are pretty cheap now and is good to have even if you don't work on your car.
