Thumbs down Help! Soft top removal question

Okay so, me and my buddy were removing my soft top yesterday night, and we ran into a bit of a snag, so i thought i would see if anyone has any experience with removing the top...

So we got everything out, the problem is, how do we remove the soft top frame from the top assembly?? This is assuming that the convertible top assembly must go back on the car so that the hard top mount (and the gusset plate) can be re-installed. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'll load some pictures in a sec after i go take some. EDIT: tried and gave up on loading pictures, F

You do not need to remove the top from the assembly to mount the hard top brackets or the gusset. I have done this twice, just omit one bolt and voila. The top will be just fine and solid.
