Korean food market
Can anyone recommend a korean food market in the city? I'm looking to pick up some BBQ and kimchi to throw on the BBQ for dinner tonight. I'm in the dunbar area (dunbar and 20th) so something not too far away would be cool.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Korean food market you might have to go drive down the korean area of town like lougheed in bby and such.
I know you can get some kimchi and bbq stuff from the asian supermarkets in richmond and such.
you just move up here?

It's worth the drive to North road in Burnaby/Coquitlam. It's around the Lougheed Mall area. Get on highway 1 and get off at Galardi to get back onto Lougheed. You should be able to get there within 30 minutes from where you are. There are 2 very big Korean supermarkets on North road by Lougheed hwy. You'll see more Korean restaurants on North road than Honda Civic.

This is my area of expertise.
For Korean marts, there is a new place called Hmart which is right on Robson, not too far from the Library.
A lot of the chinese supermarkets and bigger supermarkets will carry kimchi.
Some of the suggestions like Hannam and Hanareum are good ones, though they are a little far.
There are some smaller korean stores if you go along Kingsway between Boundry rd and fasier st.
If you want anything more specific, there is a couple of stores I can recommend.
For restaurnats, my favourate Korean restaurant is Jang Mo Jib. There is one on Robson and one in Richmond, at the old Lulu island restaurant.
