I did some research back in 2002 because I wanted the white or spa S. Neither colours were available in Canada at the time. Honda Canada will not cover warranty because of an agreement they have with dealers south of the border. This agreement became effective when the new Odyssey came out. There was a shortage of Odyssey + good exchange rate south of the border so broker in Canada would buy the van and take it south of the border. To put a stop to this American Honda & Honda Canada agreed that they will not honour warranty on cars crossing the border. Is there any truth to this? I have no idea, but this is what I was told by a broker and a dealer.

If the process is easy we would see lots of Acura EL south of the border and lots of MR2 up the border.

The process is far from easy, I bought my S in Portland and it's been sitting in a storage locker in Seattle for just over a month and a half now. No real hurry to bring it up since the weather is just garbage right now. Some cars are not allowed into Canada from the US and vice versa. the best way to get all your questions answered is to look at the Register of Imported Vehicles website:

http://www.riv.ca

This should answer all your questions, if not, there's a 1-800 number to call and they are very helpful.
