Default Had a Service Today

While I realize that a A1 service isn't much (oil change and a few checks), I was heading up towards Discovery Honda in Duncan to pick up our sponsorship money and to discuss with the Sales Manager up there (Brad Ostermann) and decided to book my car in.

I wanted to provide a write up of a very positive experience. When I first purchased my car I wanted it checked out by Honda so I took it to Campus in Victoria for an oil and basic "have a look". They required that I purchase my own oil (I use RP). They also took a week to book me in, and the price they quoted was suspiciously high.

On Thursday I spoke Brad and asked if, while I was coming up there could he squeeze my car in for an A1 service. He had me booked in for 10:00am Saturday. I received a confirmation email Friday morning stating the time and fact that the oil would be there waiting for me.

Upon arrival at Discovery Honda I was greeted very pleasantly by the service representative who not only knew who I was but what I was there for and he informed me they would take the car right away and my oil was in the back. I was asked if I would like a coffee and my car should be ready in about an hour.

An hour came by and boom, car was ready on time (and it was a rather busy Saturday if you ask me). There was a bit of delay getting the car out of the shop because THEY WASHED AND VACCUUMED MY CAR, INCLUDING CLEANING BRAKE DUST FROM MY WHEELS. The car looks great!

Some of the staff came out to talk to me about my car and how they are looking forward to the Poker Run in July. I have to say this is one of the most positive experiences I have had with a simple service. I would recommend this dealership for Honda service to anyone. As a matter of fact I would certainly make the trip to Duncan before I took my car back to Campus. The experience was 200% better and I went away with a very good feeling.

Just thought I would share ...,

The majority of dealerships wash and vaccum your car after service. I used to hate bringing my truck in for oil changes.

I would rather just get the oil changed and be on my way.

i only like the servicing team at campus honda, they're nice people. but after that i don't know who's touchin my car!!

the parts guy wouldn't willingly order parts for me... the sales team didn't disclose all the facts when i bought the 06 red one there...

And I normally would never go to the dealership but in this case I was going anyway and it needed the service and I have just been too busy to do it myself (not to mention I don't have a level bit of driveway to do an oil change in. The ones I have done were at a buddies garage with a lift.

The point of the post was more the way I was treated (or my opinion of the way I was treated), being a US car and all. The price was reasonable, the work was very good, and the attitude there was excellent.

They did a recall search and informed me that they couldn't find my car in the Canadian Database, so they mentioned to me it was a US car and even asked roughly how much I paid for it an commented that was an excellent deal. No attitude at all.

Anyway just thought I would share. Hey and look what the dealership is doing for the Poker Run. They deserve the props.

We have been going to Discovery since we got our car, I must say service has been fine. As a business owner i alway critique the places and staff i run into. And they have always been open and straight forward. We have our car going to them on March 2 to get some work done. Will be the third trip there all positive so far. John
