17 inch tires
just like the title says, i am going to be purchasing 17s (7s in front, 8s in rear) and i would like to know what tires you all recommend. I want something that performs well and lasts a decent amount of time, i was looking at the new azenis...anyone have a suggestion or 2? what has worked well for you? thanks
Ok, this has been covered numerous times.
Here are my suggestions.
Bridgestone RE750's (my personal fav)
Kumho MX's (stickiest of the bunch, but not as long lasting)
Yokohama ES100's (most cost effective. I've not had good experience with them (handling = bleck), but a lot of people like them.)
Azenis are NOT going to last you a long time or even a decent amount of time. They're horrible in the rain and are loud. Supposedly, the new RT615's have better wet traction and get less greasy when they get hot. I've had them, but I only used them at auto-x's. I'd not recommend these for your daily driving.
Other tires might satisfy your needs, but the ones above are my suggestions.

FWIW - I just put a set of Kumho MX's on my car about a week ago. I love 'em. Of course, I have a 3 mile commute to work so I wasn't overly concerned about treadwear.
I couldn't find a better price than TireRack (until someone misquoted me and then honored the quote. I even double checked the tire sizes with them when they gave me the quote!)
Enjoy the new tires, whichever ones you choose.
Chris.

I like the RE750 Bridgestone my self. The size depends on the offset of the wheels you are going to use. I would say either 215/45R17 or 225/45R17 front and 245/40R17 or 255/40R17 rear.
The thing I like about the RE750 is the ride quality and tread life as well as the handling in wet and dry.
If I can help let me know.
