Rain Tires
I want to know if those of you who have the P Zero Nero M+S like the way they handle in the rain. I live in Seattle and it is that time of year again. I need new rear tires and I will consider new tires at all corners if there is a better wet handling tire than the RE-050. I never had a problem with RE-050, just thought the Zero's might be even better. Also, they supposedly last longer.
I use my S as a daily driver. Nearly most of it is highway speeds, some city. I do not take my car to the track right now, so losing the summer performance is not a concern at the moment. I just want to stay in one piece!!!
Also, any of you who have other brands of tires that handle VERY well in the rain, please let me know what they are!
Thanks!

I have never had the p-zero neros on my S, but I did have them on my last car=01 prelude. I had two sets of tires on the lude, the first were yoko paradas, and then the neros. I lived in arkansas at the time and the neros were great tires. I personally was impressed with the traction wet or dry. Others may have different positions, and it was on a fwd car so that may not be any help. Try tire rack, they have a rating for every tire in every possible scenario.

I am running the Nero M+S right now and have been for couple months. I love them. They are the best all seasons I have owned thus far. Wet traction is superior. Treadwear is a whopping 400 so they will last for quite a while. I highly recommend.
The advantage of the P Zero Nero M/S is they will work better as the temps go down. They actually will not be better in the wet than the OE tire unless it is cold. Once the temps go down toward freezing the all season will handle better in wet and dry.
If I can help let me know.

Interesting, as I was also looking at possibly switching to all-season tires for the winter. I have the new 2006 BMW 330i with Sport Package, and I was worried about the performance tires and colder climates. I saw a review of PZeroNero M+S Run Flats in one of the major car mags this month, and was considering getting them for the car.
As Aronparsons said, you may want to check the Pacific NW forum. I posed the question regarding winter tires to the members a few weeks ago.
I still haven't made up my mind. Can I get through a Seattle winter on performance tires? or do i need to go all-season? or winter?

The Bridgestone S-03 is superb in the rain. The Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is supposed to be a little better, but as the price of more sluggish response. (I can confirm the latter; haven't driven them in the rain yet).
An M+S rated tire is not superior in rainy conditions. That rating is preferable in only two conditions: Mud + Snow. In the rain, a high-performance "summer" tire with directional tread will outperform a M+S all-season tire.
We get plenty of rain in the winter here in the SF bay area, but no snow. If your conditions are similar, I'd recommend a "max performance" or "ultra high performance" tire according to the Tire Rack rating system.
I'm currently rolling on Yokohama AD-07s, and can't wait for the rain to start so I can see how they perform.
