Default 17" Tire Sizes

Ok, ive spent ages reading the tire size stickys and its driving me nutts.

Im getting these wheels: http://www.potn.co.uk/p1040494.htm

I have standard AP1 wheels F: 205/55/16 R: 225/50/16

The tires I want on the front are 205/50/17 and they will be fine.

Ive read if not using the OEM bridgestone tires then I should class them as 245, but is this the same for upsizing? See my problem below:

Which of the below calculations should I use if im not going to use Bridgestone S02 tires, both give less than 0.7% reading inaccuracies:

225/50/16 > 245/40/17

OR

245/50/16 > 245/45/17

Go with stock AP1 sizes: 215/45-17 front, 245/40-17 rear. Or possibly 205/45-17 fronts if you are worried about rubbing (wheel fitment stickie gives 48mm min offset for 215's up front).

I personally wouldn't go with 205/50-17 fronts, they'll be slightly taller than the rears. That said, they should work ok.

245/50-16 is not a recommended size for the AP1, too tall. LIkewise 245/45-17 is tall.
