Default 17's or 18's?

I'm about to order some LE-28N's from the groupbuy, and will be running 225's in the front, 255's in the rear, in either an S-02 or an S-03. My question is this: I am switching from stock, and do not wish to go down in performance. I hear that you lose performance when you go to an 18. This I think is generally because of weight, but these rims actually spec out less poundage than the factory ones. This is what is going to hinge my decision between 17's and 18's. I want the 18's for the look, but do not want to make my car slower. THe 17's are quite a bit lighter and I would probably be making my car quicker and that would be a bonus as well. Any input would be apreciated.

If you are reducing unsprung weight the car will not be slower. I would say go with the 18" if that is what you want. You would have to go with the S03 as the S02 will not be available in that size.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you
