Default 18x8.5 ALL AROUND

hello, its been a long time since i have posted anything. couple years actually, i like to do as much research as i can but when it come to wheel sizes and offsets its a pain!

here is my question,

i have a ap1 s2000 stock height.

i want to run 18x8.5 +48 wheels all around with

215/40/18 front
255/35/18 rear

i CANT roll my front fenders because they are carbon fiber. im willing to roll my rear, pull, and everything needed to fit the rear, just cant touch the front.

will these fit without rubbing when i hit speed bumps?
what camber would be best to roll with these rims and tires?

i daily drive the car and i take alot of 5,10,20 hour drives around the country in the s. just want something that looks MEAN AF and will keep the driveability of the car. i was also thinking on lowering it by 1 inch. if i shouldnt, please let me know. thanks!!

The rear is not the problem. These could fit without a fender roll in the rear. The front will be much closer. For your fenders is there at kind of lip in the wheel well? If you you would probably want to take a dremel and shave that part down. Are these fenders just OEM copies in carbon or would they happen to be wider than OEM?

Overall I will say this is not an ideal wheel spec. 8.5 isn't really much of an upgrade and being 18's you are basically making your tires cost a lot more. What wheels are they? Is there an option for a wider rear? Maybe a 9.5 with a similar offset? That would overall look better and provide an increase in grip. The front fenders would still be a concern but it you shave down the lip and are careful when entering and exiting driveways you may be ok.

hey thanks for the reply! inside the wheel well there is no lip with the fenders, they just come off the top and do down towards the ground but no inner lip on the inside. yea they are just oem copies but if you look real close at a regular fender, the inner lip has the small circle outlines, mine dont have this lip. ive been looking for rims for months now and i can never find sizes that will work out or offsets are screwed up or something. i dont have alot of money left because i just dropped $7000 of work into my car so im just getting something cheapo that look good to hold me until maybe my birthday when i can afford some REAL rims. i was looking at the xxr 522 rims and thats the only 18 inch size they offer. there are a few other xxr rims but this is the highest offset i was able to find. everything else is like et30 and crap. also, i just like the looks of the 18's compared to the 17's on the right size tire and lowered 1 inch i think would give me the look im trying to achieve. i dont want alot of space between the tire and the car. im on ap1 wheels and stock height right now so i can fit my HEAD in the gap lol!!

i found a few rims with 9.75r and i know thats too much for me but not any that were 9.5. i originally wanted to go 8.5f and 9.5r but cant find rims in those sizes and when i do the offset be crazy i just want something that look nice for now until i can get some expensive ones come my birthday.

18x8.5 42 with 255/35 needed a mild roll and bumper tab relocation at 2.9 worth of camber in the rear. I can't speak to the fronts

I think you would be a lot better off with OEM AP2 wheels.

Please don't buy XXR's. Even if you have to live with the AP1 wheels a little longer save that money and wait since you will still be spending a good amount on wheels and tires you will eventually replace. That money can go towards getting the better wheels sooner.

For the front fenders since there is no lip you should be ok. You will just have to be really careful in certain situations like driveways because if that wheel is turned and hits the fender it will not be pretty. I would still try and stay a little more conservative on the front but it should be ok.
