18x9.5 +38 all around fitment questions
Hey Fellas,
I just ordered some of my dream wheels in 18x9.5 along with some tein flex coil overs. The plan for this car is to make it a "stance" type Daily Driver. (yes I know that I will be decreasing performance, but I have a dedicated track car for performance driving)
Will I run into rubbing issues if I run a 225/35/18 all around? Should I go smaller? I dont mind stretching the tires, but I dont want to do any pulling of the fenders. I dont mind a little bit of rolling but no pulling. My front fenders are stock and my rears have a slight roll.
Any advice from people who have experience fitting these sizes would be helpful, and I'd be willing to run a little larger tire if possible but not rubbing is more important to me then increasing tire size.
Thanks in Advance fellas!

You cant avoid rolling your fenders with those sizes. Unless you dont mind your car looking like crap after a week of driving it on public roads. i did it, its dumb, im still doing it.

Ah I love the "I just bought these wheels and need to know if they fit". It is normally wise to seek information before. You have to do a good amount of rolling and probably some pull even with the crappy small tires. For reference here is a car with 18x9.5 +40. He has 255's on the car but you can see the fender pull especially on the front to make the fit.
Here is the owners for sale thread for the wheels. Not sure what his alignment is but you will need a good amount of camber for them to fit as well. Good luck I don't think you have any idea what you are going to need to do to fit these and not destroy your fenders.

As long as you are rolled all the way around, the 225 should squeeze by up front. The rear can accept a 255. Make sure your running at least -2.5 to -3 camber all the way around as well.
And yeah, usually you check/understand fitment requirements before you buy

Thanks for the replies.
I was playing with the will they fit calculator:
front:
http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...&Submit=Submit
Rear:
http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...&Submit=Submit
Its looking close but almost dicy with the additional 40-50mm of poke over stock.
I knew what I was getting into buying these wheels, and thats why they aren't +20 or less. +38 was the highest I could go while still getting the concave look I wanted. It seems that the last part of the equation will be the tire size / camber / ride height.
With any project like this there is going to be some trial an error. I want the stretched tire low offset look, so I didnt buy the wrong wheels, I just need to figure out which size tires I need to finish this off.
Im flip flopping between these sizes:
225/35/18 (I am leaning towards this size)
but would consider these if necessary:
225/40/18
215/35/18
215/40/18
205/40/18 ( would rather not go this small, but its been done)
* My apologies in advance to the guys who this angers, and I understand and respect your concern but I am just using the car to creep around town. I have lusted after this look for a long time and must finish what I have started.

Like I said 225 up front - 225/40 if you want to closely maintain stock overall diameter) Run the 255/35 in back. Running the same 225 in the rear will not only suck for maintaining stock s2k grip, but show more fender gap compared to front, making it look probably less then ideal. Run a 245 in back at least. Only problem then is it will be slightly shorter then the front 225/40. I suppose if there is a 225/35 option for up front, it would be better to run a 245/35 in back with that match, that combination would make the front overall diameter slightly shorter, which would be better then the rear at least.
