[QUOTE]Come on newbies be nice.
Most of this crap was beat to death in 2001-2002. This is all really old news. I noticed a lot of you guys are newbies and dont really have an idea on tire sizes/offset/weights/camber etc. Some of you do.
All you had to do was ask.

HAHA, people really have trouble figuring wheels sizes. a +40mm offset will work if you have a 7" wide wheel. It's not that bad. You may rub but very little. People aren't taking into account that wheels width plays just as big a factor as offset. I could run a +20mm offset on a 4" wide wheel.
BTW, why would you want wheels (ugly ones at that) that are as heavy and skinny as those. My goal is to go as light, wide, and low offset as I can without rubbing on the body work.
notice how far out the rear wheel is. Wider track = better handling

Volk Racing LE28N's, awesome wheels, probably one of the best out there for the S2000 (monoblock forged for great strength and very lightweight - rear wheels is a 18x8.5 and weighs like 16.5lbs.

i just want to look at other cheaper options. if i dont find anything else i like as much, then i'll spend the money, but i'd love to spend that money on the teins....

I try to avoid charts as they seem to be way to conservative.
Yes a 17x8 +38 or +40 rear wheel you can go with as high as a 235/40/17 tire. With a matching 17x7 front he can go with a +40 and run a 205 or 215/45/17 tire..

My question was whether a 235/40/17 tire would fit a 7" wheel like he has, not whether he can run 8" +40 as a rear wheel.
I was telling you what will work. 235 is to wide on a 7 inch wheel. 205/215/225 is the min and max I would go.
Therefore so you can understand this, he can run a 205 or 215 front tire and a 225 rear tire. Done deal. If he wants to spend $200 more he can get the 8 inch wide rears and go 235. Again done deal .
