A032 Tires
Ones a street tire that is not available in proper (16") sizing for the S2000, the other is an R-Compound that is available in the right sizes (205/55 and 245/45). Not much of a reason to compare.
You might want to consider broadening your choice to include Toyo RA1s.

Don't know for sure. My opinion is, that if you're an experienced track driver and want to go fast right out of the box at the track, then they need to be shaved. I think that for most drivers shaved tires will be way better than the driver. My local Toyo dealer shaves them at no extra charge.
However, if the tires are at full tread depth, and this is your first set of race rubber, then you'll be learning the limits of the tires when they're NOT at their best. By the time you're better, then the tires will be better, and you'll be ready to rock and roll. By then you'll know if you'll want to spring for shaved tires the next time. Anyway that's my theory and that's what I'm doing with my first set of race rubber.
If you're going to leave them on all the time, then it's probably best to leave them at full tread depth. Within a few thousand miles, you'll be close to shaved depth anyway. You just need to time your purchase to make sure you get those few thousand miles in, before you want to go all out at the track. Some have gotten 8000 miles out of Toyo RA1s, heck I'm lucky to get that out of my rear S02's Like, get them on now and get used to them before the S2KCA meet at Laguna in late May.
Remember to properly break-in your tires the first time. From what I've read a good method to this is to drive them hard for the very first 25 to 30 miles. Then let them sit over-night at least, 24 hours if you can. I can't remember which, but one of the tire websites (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/com...atcycletech.htm has some really good info on tire break-in. This was news to me, but makes a lot of sense.
Do a search on RA-1 or A032 for that matter. There's a lot of info out there on shaved vs. full and a lot of opinions on what tires to use when.
