Default A048 to AD08

Hey guys I normally run AO48's 265/35/18 front and rear, I've used this tire for about 3 years now. I love these tires, i track them and i daily drive them. I never had a real problem driving them in the rain although its not very fun because i feel nervous from all the horror stories i've heard from ppl about using these R comps on the street in the rain. A set usually lasts me one season. This year i was thinking of going to Yokohama AD08s. I kno they are not R comps and i will prob feel a big performance change ont he track, but i just wanted your opinion on what im doing, what to expect from these tires and if i'm going with the right tire. I track my car 3-4 times a year and my car is pretty much daily driven.

Thanks in Advance

The Advan AD08 is going to be a street tire versus the A048 is a true R compound tire. If this is a street car that is not tracked the Advan AD08 is a great tire.
If I can help just let me know.

The track events you're doing, just track days? I.e., not racing wheel to wheel or competing on time? If it's not competition, and you can only run one set of tires for street and track, I'd definitely recommend going with the AD08 streets over the A048 R-comps.

I track my car on Dunlop Star Specs, and it's not a problem, they make great track tires if not quite up to dry grip of R-comps. I would expect that the AD08's would perform similarly.

AD08s or RE11s are great street tire for the track. Maybe bump your tire size up to 275/35/18 if you are switching from r comp to street to help out a bit.
