Default Anyone running Yoko AD08's?

Following on from my "rear end too soft" thread this week - https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/958...advice-needed/ it would appear the horrible soft end is most likely because of the soft sidewalls on the Continental tyres, I have absolutely no confidence throwing the car about compared to other sports cars I've owned, see more details in the link above if you're interested.

Anyway, I have no doubt that the AD08's will offer amazing grip in comparison, but I'm getting conflicting views if the sidewalls are stiff enough compared to Bridgestone MZ's. What's everyone's thoughts? I don't want to spend £550 and make the wrong decision.

Thanks in advance

AD08s have the stiffest sidewalls of all the "extreme performance" summer tires (re11, star spec, rs3, ecsta xs...) They have steel inserts in the sidewall to resist deflection.

I can't compare to the others as I have only had the AP2 stock tires. I replaced those with the AD08's and they are amazing. I also have Advan wheels. The tires and wheels are so balanced I didn't need any weights. It happens but from what I hear it is unusual for all four.

I absolutely love these tires. I've had StarSpecs, RS3s in the past and these give so much better feedback when on the track. The RS3s have better ultimate grip, the StarSpecs are a good cool weather tire.

Question is (and I know it's relative), are they worth that extra $$$

In my opinion, no. They don't make a SS or RS3 in my current wheel size so I opted to go with the AD08s. They're quite expensive for a street tire, but at the same time, I think they're one of the best if not the best street tire there is.
