There was a Best Motoring Video in July 2007 comparing RE070 and Re01-r on a twistie track using the new Civic Type-R. 070 edges 01-r in lap time. (Btw, in the video, the S2000 got spanked by the Civic type-r, integra type-r, and 350z )
do you have a link?

Now a moot point... with no availability in sight and no answer from Jim we went with the RE01R tire.... which is working extremely well.
Certainly the RE070 would be better yet, and we'll go to it in a few months when (if?) it finally shows up.

So is the RE070 supposed to have better tirewear than the RE-01R?

Doubtful... but no doubt it will out-handle the RE01R.

On the CTR with Tsuchiya driving both times the RE070 was .1(IIRC) sec faster, which is negligeable. But they did say that the 070 had better initial turn in characteristics. But they said they would doubt that 070's would benefit other cars with 01R's since the 070 was specifically designed for the CTR.

You guys should check out the RE11's

Tsuchiya rules... my holiday present to myself was to round out my Best Motoring and Option video collection for the past few years. As of today, I've still got a stack of 15 more DVDs left to view. Which is why I setup the Best Motoring store on my site - previously, these things have been almost impossible to get. Now I get each months new videos when they come out.

Fantastic specs - Bridgestone has done it yet again. I especially like the assymetric sidewall construction.

JIM - can you get these??????????????

Wow, those RE11's look pretty wild. I wonder what kind of mileage they're good for.

How many miles do people usually get out of the 01R and 070?
