RE-11 are way overpriced and I'd really get the star specs instead. I only recommended the AD08s because Im a brand whore and love yokohama.

Lol thanks man. I am starting to back off of those RE11s. Looks like everyone loves the star specs...

Personally starting to lean towards the RE760s:

Looks like a good combination of performance and ride comfort....although I am more concerned about performance. Kind of a bridgestone and toyo whore myself. What's up with the awesome price of the RE760s? 300 dollars less than the RE11s. That big a difference in performance or treadlife?

now we're in a diff category. Extreme > Max > Ultra High btw, but if you must have Bridgestones...I'd say the RE050A PPs then.

or the S-04s...they're rated @ 186mph. Which is the highest speed rating for any street Bridgestone made:

Ohhhhh nice the new S-04. There have only been three reviews of them on tirerack but they seem to be pretty impressive. I wont need new tires for another year or so (knock on wood) but these are definitely high up on the list...and by then there will be substantial reviews on them.

cant go wrong with the rs-3s. more comfortable than the starspecs probably due to softer tirewall and not as noisy. my starspecs started getting noisy after the first 2000 miles.
also the rs3s are better in the dry. it hasnt really rained here since i installed the rs3s so i cant comment on that yet but i bet the others are right. also you cant beat the price. yeah it wears down a bit faster than the starspecs
but factor in the price and the miles driven per dollar is about even.
the best overall extreme performance tire is probably is the re11 but probably not if you factor in the price.

I personally think the RE-11 is the best max grip street tire when you take into account dry grip, wet grip, ride, noise, and longevity. The Star specs are a compromise in ride, feel and noise; I didn't care for them at all and would personally not buy them again. The RS3s have amazing dry grip, compromised in the wet, and I think shorter life than the RE-11s. I personally have about 17k miles on a set of RE-11s with two track days and about 40 auto-x runs and I'll probably get 20k miles out of them. Another option I would consider in your case would be the new S04s. If you go to the Bridgestone website, they have a matrix of the tire characteristics so that you may compare them (dry/wet grip, ride, noise, fuel economy, etc).

For a DD street car, I would go with Max Performance category over Extreme Performance. There's simply no good reason to give away any water-channeling capacity in exchange for some small amount of additional dry grip which you'll probably never utilize on the street.

In addition to stock sizes, you might also consider:
215/45-17 front, 255/40-17 rear
225/45-17 front, 255/40-17 rear

Thanks I will check bridgestones website later when I am not at work. The more I look into the more I think you guys are right about going max performance since my car is my DD. I think the new S04 might be right up my alley.
