I've had the Hankook Ventus V12's on my car for a few weeks now and I love them. I can't imagine needing a better tire for street driving, the G's I'm able to hit in corners are freaky and the traction in the wet is unreal. Im running 235/265 so that makes a difference but I love them so far, I have yet to lose traction with them.

I also would recommend the Super Sport. They were the quickest tires in the One Lap of America that just finished. They are also going to give you longer tread life and better wet traction than the Extreme Perofrmance tires.
If I can help let me know.

Surprised no one mentioned the Falken 615's. I hear good things.

My other track car is a 1st gen rx-7. With the XS. Is a very great tire but not as good as the RS-3. However for daily I would choose the XS. It seems to me that the RS-3 are too much for the road for DD.
???
RS-3 has way more wet grip than XS. MUCH more appropriate for a DD that is driven in the rain.
You can't have too much wet grip, and the XS falls way short here.

A *good* Max Perf category tire (Conti DW, Dunlop Sport Maxx TT, etc.) would be still more appropriate for DD use.
Like I said the RS-3 is better for the track but XS for the road. The RS-3 aro so sticky that everything on the road glue to it. That doesn't happen on the XS.

But now that someone mentioned the Continental DW. Very good tire. probably the next tire on my DD a 06 civic si. Good reviews so far

The XS's lack of wet grip due to compound make it much LESS appropriate for DD usage vs. Star Spec, AD08, RE11, and RS-3.

They all have reduced water-channeling capacity vs. good Max Perf category tires, but in addition to this the XS simply lacks grip in damp/wet conditions apart from hydroplaning issues.

Again, Max Performance is the right category, but in the Extreme Perf category, XS's are *not* the one to go with for a DD. The other tires mentioned are much better choices.

I had the Michelin Pilot Sport, PS2 as my last tire. Very good wet/dry grip. VERY quiet ride. Not a cheap tire though. I have a set of Yokohama's now and they are pretty loud as where the Dunlops I had before the Pilots. Next tires will be going back to Michelin
