Default Bought Nexen Tyres

Easy

Just Mot'd my 99 apr1 60k. Got stung for 3 new tyres (first ive had to replace!) and had to take budget performance options. NEXEN. It was a panic decision but i had to as i needed a quick mot to get tax in time. £60 per front corner and £100 for rear right. As opposed to £100 per front and £200 rear for bridgestones.

Obviously tyres are really important - especially on the back...

I notice online Nexen get a lot of disrespect.

What have i done!?

So you've got one worn tire and three new tires? If so, then that's a VERY bad idea.

And Nexen is a brand of tire, so that doesn't tell us exactly what model tire you got.

There just cheap tires. Expect cheap tire performance and life. Nothing more nothing less.

You answered yourself above. Next time do some research. There's a lot of room budget-wise between Bridgestone and Nexen. And you only replaced 3? Be careful out there.

My S2k came with new Nexens when I bought it (used). They're not as horrible as I thought they'd be, but I don't push the car hard and will probably get something more reputable when they wear out.

That said, at buying just 3 tires ...

Replacing just one rear is a very bad idea. Your car will most likely pull to one side, and this can actually do some damage to your diff.

Always replace the rears as a set. Same size, brand, model, and tread depth.

Same here. My car had a brand new set of Nexen N7000 when I bought it, 225/245. I now have about 10k miles on them and the rears will be toast by summer. I thought they'd be crap but they're actually ok! They feel stiff which I like and the handling is predictable, especially in the wet. The N7000 is marketed as a UHP all season. They'll be replaced with either RS3s or HTR Z3s, but I definitely don't hate my Nexens.

I run NEXEN's on my DD in the summer. They aren't that bad, but I don't push the DD near as hard as the S2K. I probably would not put NEXEN's on the S since it is purely a summer toy (and gets driven hard up in the mountain roads)

I think buying only 3 tires was a worse option than picking NEXEN as the brand.
