Brake dust on my TE-37.....won't come off
I've a big problem here! I'm using the Carbotech brake pad on my S2000 now and they dust and squeak alot. I was only going to use it on the track but I haven't have time to swap it back out yet......and now my Volks TE-37 are all ed up because of the brake dust on it and those brake dust won't come off. I used eagle one wheel cleaner and black magic wheel cleaner and doesn't seems to work. Those brake dust are stuck on my front wheels and not the back wheels. It just won't come off.......... What should I do? Are there any product out there that will remove these nasty brake dust?

Hmmm...after a month it could be baked on there for good. What have you tried to clean it with so far? What type of soap and what type of brush/sponge/cloth?

I tried many different brands of wheel cleaners and won't work.......I might try acid base later on. If everything still doesn't work I will powdercoat my wheels to black with polished lip.

If you have used them in a racing application what happens is the dust is very hot when it comes off and they melt into the clear coat of the wheel. You are not going to get it off. You will get some of the surface stuff off but not the stuff imbedded in the wheels clear coat.

Jim is right, and I tried to warn you of this in your first thread. At this point trying more cleaners will most likely be a waste of time and materials. In addition to the stuff melting into the powdercoat, the metal material is still exposed, and once they are driven in the rain those particles start to rust, and the car/wheels take on a rust colored patina, most nasty!
It is a case of sand and paint, or sandblast and powdercoat I suspect.

thanks guys......now I'm just searching for powder coating company that can do my wheels for me. What color should I get? The bad thing is I won't have my Rays or Volks stickers on the wheels anymore. People said that I can't buy those stickers.
