Default Cleaning Rims

I'm trying to clean up my rims a bit because they're getting pretty oxidized. My friend told me about this stuff called Acrysol. I've researched it a little but I was wondering if anyone has ever used it or knows where to get it. I hear it's pretty hard to come across.

Would you wash your car with it? If not I would not clean the wheels with it.

Is it the clear coat that's gone bad or is the underlying metal really oxidizing? Fixing the clear coat is a lot easier than removing metal oxidation.

Ditto on Jim's comment, wheels need to be treated like any other painted finish on your car, including waxing.

It might just be the clear coat. There's just rust spots forming in the corners because I guess that's where all the salt from the road likes to collect. If it was the actual metal that was oxidizing could you use the acrysol and then finish it with a good polish.
