Default Question about Painted Wheels

Hey guys,

I bought a set of wheels that i got painted black, but im worried it'll get rock chips and scratches easily. Is it possible to put on a layer of wax or something along those lines? Does regular car wax work?

thanks for the help!!

If anyone was wondering, i bought the TRmotorsport C3's (nice and cheap)

Les

Wax wouldn't prevent your wheels from chipping. If you're afraid of your wheels getting chipped away, I suggest getting your wheels re clear coated if the finish is fine. I would avoid using spray paint (rattle can) clear coat.

I wax my rims for the pure purpose of brake dust. When there is a layer of wax on the rims it is much easier to clean brake dust off.

Just any regular car wax would work?

I got tirerack to mount my tires on the rims already. Can i still get a clear coat? If so how much would it cost?

Please do take note. Mike's rims are mesh style, and waxxing that takes a great deal of dna in order to complete it.
