those tires sizes will work, but your probably going to rub in the rear.

Why not go with the +50/+63?

The 225/45R17 and 255/40R17 will fit on the wheels no problem but you could have some rubbing in front and rear depending on the specific tire and your alignment specs. As far as which tire it would depend on what you are looking for out of the tire.
