Experimenting with tire sizes
Current set up:
Espelir springs on factory shocks (about 1 finger gap all around)
5zigen fn01rcs 17 x 8 +43 in front 17 x 9 +43 in the rear.
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports 215/45 in front 245/40 in rear
Rear quarter panels have a good amount of roll, and the rear bumper tap is knocked back/removed.
Front fenders have no work done to them.
Alignment I currently use (for daily street driving, and occasional )
Front:
camber -1.5
caster 6.7
toe 0
Rear:
camber -2.5
toe +.16
I am trying to figure out what some of your thoughts are on this set up. I have been debating on bumping up to a 255/225 tire set up, but I honestly don't know how much that extra amount of tire contact will help me on the turns. Looking at it from a strictly performance perspective (and I realize this is somewhat subjective), would I want to "even out" (make the tire fitment less staggered) the tires, should I keep what I have (size wise, a better tire would be an obvious upgrade), OR should I get some more meat on the fronts and rears.
Now, I do realize that actual tire width will vary between each tire. For instance, I have heard that the RE-11 is an overall larger tire than the 760.
I have always had the idea that making the cars wheel and tire fitment closer to equal front and back, would tend to make it understeer more. But I have also noticed that notion varies between people/owners when comparing the two extremes, an early AP1 and a CR.

For the set up that you have with wheels and springs I would not go any bigger with the tires. You can get a much better handling tire though. The RE760 is a good wearing and riding tire but not in the same class as say the Bridgestone RE-11 or the Dunlop Star Specs.
If I can help let me know.
