Default downside of 9 width all around

what would be the negative effects running 9's all around other then added weight? Right now i am basically stock but thinking of doing this in the near future.

probably a bad idea unless your suspension is tuned to run a non-staggered setup. can you say oversteer?

it's just that my parents are willing to pay the difference since i will have the benefit of rotating the tires, so i thought it would be an upgrade. i will be tracking my help 5-6 a year

my advice would be to hit up the track with your stock set up, and see how the car reacts then change from there.

255/40-17 on 9's will rub the front fenders unless you
roll fender liner
max out neg camber at the front
run high spring rates at the front

The car will also tend towards oversteer at the limit.
