Try side stepping on the clutch.

What is side stepping? BTW, no the lid was not off and yes I was at WOT. I will try it again and see what happens.

Can this be a clutch issue?

if your clutch was slipping your rpms would climb very fast and you would go no where.

Makes sense. I guess I will try to launch at a higher RPM. I appreciate all of your replies.

I have Falken Azenis RT-615 go to a blacktop do a small burnout and then launch it and come back and tell me how that shit grips...These tires are crazy when hot and sticky, but also dangerous...

Side stepping is when you let your foot slide off the side of the pedal.

1. Push in the clutch pedal.
2. Put it in 1st gear
3. Rev to 6-7k rpms.
4. Slide your foot off the side of the clutch pedal, letting the pedal pop back up on its own.
5. Stomp the gas and modulate it to control wheel spin.

This allows the clutch to be engaged much quicker than if your leg/foot was in the way of it traveling back up.

Ahhhh!!!! Got it, I am surprised that I didn't think of that.

Thanks so much for the explanation. That may have been the reason I bogged and the tires didn't break as much as I had expected. I will try side stepping a bit more at 6K and if there is still too much grip, I will try at a higher RPM.

Thanks again!

When you are blipping the throttle to keep the revs between 6k and 7k (or 6k and 7.5k) get into a rhythm, and when you are on the throttle going to 7k (or 7.5k) you "sidestep" the clutch and press the throttle all the way to get the tires spinning.

Thats how I tried.
And its FUN!
