Default Falken Ziex 512

I just got new wheels and got a quote for
2- 225-45-17
2- 255-40-17
for the Falken Ziex 512 for real cheap locally (Socal)
does anybody have experience with these. I hear good things like long wear, pretty good grip, good consumer rating etc.

Does anybody concur? I did a search with few details on an S
Thanks

I've put them on my gf's Miata and mom's Forester, and they are both pleased. The Forester handles much better than stock but the Miata does not. However, the Miata has gained a plush ride and the dreaded steering wheel vibration has disappeared.

I have a very similar all-season tire as a daily driver on my S2000 with 17" wheels. The ride is actually softer than 16" S02's but the handling and grip are a few notches lower. I estimate they will last about 25% longer than the various summer performance tires I have owned. Since you live in LA, why the all-seasons?

Thanks for the response,
Actually I'm not choosing them because they are all season. Its the price that sold me...$350 a set!!!

I think I will try them. I don't think I can go wrong at this price.

They're grippy for all seasons, but can't compare with a summer tire. Traction in the wet and in snow is pretty good though.

I had some on my past cars. And they suck in the snow. I was going about 5 mph, with 1/2 inch of snow on the ground. And I couldn't stop. So I crashed into a gate and messed up my front bumper alittle and my fender. They are good in the rain tho.

I've had a set of these on my '99 civic hatch for about 6 months now. They are quiet, comfortable and don't seem to wear all that much. They have a wheel rim protector which prevents curb rash. I previously had a set of yokohama A509. The falken ziex 512 has a softer ride in comparison. If you're looking for more performance and less comfort, the falken fk-451 might be a better choice.
