Yes, inside and outside, but not directional for rotation. There is no arrow pointing as to which tire goes on which side.

Exactly. Tires marked 'Outside' can be rotated left to right. The outside would still be outside.

Directional tires with an arrow can't be left right rotated by just unbolting the wheels, as arrow would be pointing the wrong way.

Its worth noting the rotation direction mostly has to do with tread patterns effect on water dispersement. Tires with such patterns won't work as designed in the rain if rotating the wrong direction.

Just got back from a 390 mile mountain drive all went great till we stopped at Mosquito Lake,CA I kept hearing this strange noise, but the car was not running. The noise got louder and then I saw the cowboy hat going up and down between the trees, then I knew what that noise was COW BELLS. I lost count at a little over 300 so I would guess 425 to 450 head, so we waited till they passed. For those who don't know where Mosquito Lake is, it is on Hwy 4 up at around 8000 feet and the road is 1 1/2 lanes wide(thats why there is no center line) so we had to wait for the damn cows to go by.

Well I can say these FFI 500 tires suck big time on cow-crap and piss. Even at 7 MPH the car pushed in the turns, this lasted for 4 miles. After we got through the cow-crap and piss the tires worked good again on dry pavement. I just hope they work better in the rain than they did on cow-crap and piss. We washed the car at the first car wash we drove by, I got the side of the car and the wheel wells clean but I think the first time it rains my wifes S is going to smell like the country(and we're city folk).

They are really good in the rain. Maybe if you write Jim at Tire Rack, they can introduce a feces test for upcoming tire reviews.

But how are they on horse poop? Lots of Amish on good Ohio back roads!

I prefer asymmetric tires on the S2000, not directional. "Outside" on the sidewall. Not so much a tire rotation benefit. Handling is tighter. Something about how the tire reacts in the corners. But it might take laboratory instruments to confirm this.

Directional tires were heavily advertised many years ago as "rain tires".

Hello,

I've logged about 12,800 miles on a set. Will do two track days; one last Nov. when I first mounted them at Thunder Hill, and one this Nov. at Laguna. They endured the abnormally wet NorCal winter last year too. I just took a look at the tread wear, and there's a only a smidgen of visible wear on the outer edges.

Like others have said, if I do buy another set, to size up to a 255 width, as the 245 do run narrower.

Cheers,
Alex

No, similar tread pattern though. Rest of world these are Bridgestone RE003's.

Car has been down and looking for a similar tire. This tire keeps showing up. They will be going on Ce28 17. Curious if anyone has any comparison - run 225/45r17 and 255/40r17 now. Have read these are narrower - able to go up a size without rolling / rubbing (235/265)?

looking at S04 as other option, but from what I read for a weekend driver with “fun” autox in mind these seem to be a comparable if not better choice? SC AP2 planned to put down 300+.
