We did a early morning drive(left Sacramento 4:45 am) around Lake Tahoe, saw temps down to 18*f and while not pushing it hard in the corners did take some at 15 over speed limit and these tires held the cold road just fine. So far we have around 5k miles on these tires and I still like them over the DW's I used to use.

Sounds like a joy. Sadly, my S is sound asleep hibernating under blankets in a barn about 10 miles from my house. There is more than a foot of snow on my front lawn. Ugh.
My understanding from the reading I have done is that the ExtremeContact Sports are a step up from the older DWs. I'm not sure if there is any truth to that.
Just ordered a set from TireRack.com. $426.88 out the door. I went with 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 for my AP2 as they look to run more narrow than my Bridgestone S04 Pole Positions.
I pulled the trigger as Firestone has a $60 rebate going on from 5/10/18 - 7/9/18. I hope to get them installed this month and get a fresh alignment at the same time.
I will report back with my thoughts and impressions.

Just had them mounted and balanced. I also got an alignment to make sure it was all lined up.
My my initial impression is that I love the look of the tire and they certainly seem to ride a bit more comfortably than my old S04’s. I do like to have my tire pressures up a bit more from stock so I will make an adjustment. Grip level feels good and not too far from what I’m used to. I’ll give these some time to break in and I will report back.
Probably because they don't have the aggressive square profile that the UHP class of tires does.
They are UHP.
As as far as the narrowness, they do look narrow. These are actually the 255s, which have the same tread width of my old 245 S04s. Also doesn’t help that they don’t have the wheel protector lip.
Drive them for a while before you report. Maybe 200-300 miles? I just broke in a new set of tires, and I was reminded again that the performance and feel does change noticeably after some break in time. I run 16" and this is one of the tires that is available in 16" sizes for street driving, so I am interested in hearing what you think.
I think they look great. My impression from the pics is that the rears look perfect and the fronts look maybe a touch wide. The price is certainly very appealing.
How much does that wheel protector lip do anyway? I suppose if you are literally hitting curbs it might help. But, who does that?
