Default Front tire Size

I need to replace my front tires but the stock 205's seem a little small compared to what most sports cars come with these days.

Anyone experimented with a larger tire size on their stock AP1 rims?
I was thinking like 215/?? R16

post up you experience or what you know, I don't know if this has been discussed before.

when i bought my car the previous owner had rolled the factory ap1 rear wheels 2 the front and bought wider aftermarket ones for the rear, so i have a 225 on the front for now and will be buying 2 more aftermarket wheels...then i will b running a 245 or 255/?? -17 up front

You could go with a wider tire, it's recommended that you increase the stiffness of your front sway bar or reduce stiffness at the rear (IIRC)

Finding a proper tire is also an issue with 16" rims

The car will be more biased towards oversteer, so you can counteract by stiffening the front. This is if you want to keep the stock 225's in the rear.

Also, there are very few 215/245 tire combinations in 16". This is the AP2 stagger, which puts a little more rubber on the ground.

My MY00 is running 215/255's on Ap2 wheels. The rear end still swings a bit when I want it to, but it's much less so than before. It's quiet when sliding and it doesn't kick out nearly as hard as it did before.

Disclaimer: Previous owner had nearly bald all-seasons on it so anything was an improvement.

Changing tire size alone alters the balance of the car so a larger front will aid in front traction making the rear less stable in relation. One of the best setups for the AP1 is a larger front sway bar (reduces front roll while decreasing traction which is offset by tire size) and tire upgrades to 225/50 front and 245/45 rear. The overall affect is better grip with a nuetral balance.

The only good optional size in the 16" is 225/50R16 front and 245/45R16 rear. There is no other 16" size that will fit and work on the S2K correctly. If I can help let me know.
