I just bought a set of rims and it came with fuzion zr1 tires. I know that the rears and fronts are different so I can tell which ones are the rears. However, I know each tire goes to a specific corner and I am a bit confuse as to what the correct corner is for the rears. Below is a pic (please excuse the elementary school paintwork).
Now as Im looking at the rear rim, this is how the tire looks like. This is also the exact direction that the picture is facing on the rear rim. Would this tire go onto the right rear? The other tire of course has it facing the other direction. Please help me out. Thanks!
When the car is rolling forward down the road, the arrow points toward the direction the tire is rolling. In your diagram, if you see that on the tire's sidewall, that tire should be on the right side of the car.
You can also tell by the pattern of the tread grooves. The tire turns in such a way that when it rolls over water, the water is channelled to the outside of the tread. These channels are in the shape of a bunch of "V's". If you look from the rear of your car, the "Vs" should be upside down.
See what I mean ...........................................
Okay Thanks! that's re-assurring. I know that there was a post that Jim from Tire Rack stated that even if the tire is rotating in the wrong direction, it wouldn't matter on dry roads. The only time it actually helps is in standing water. I just wanted to get it right the first time around. Thanks Viper.
