you think i should had 245 width in the back?

 

For my daily driver tires, I have these with 225F/255R on a set of AP2v1 rims. They fit nicely on them, however I do have a crazy stiff FSB to allow such a wider front tire.

i have the sumitomo's, 215's up front 255 rear. These actually are closest to the footprint of the stock bridgestones in width, and keep the stagger right.

 

i feel more roll with these tires though, i got more traction and grip with the bridgestones.

 

255 on a ap2v1 wheel is slightly pinched at 8 inches wheel width. However, the ap2v2 wheels have a 8.5 width for the rear and can better accomodate the 255's.

The Sumi's are not the most grippy tires out there. What they do provide me is good summertime tire grip and hopefully a long treadlife for my typical highway miles... and is relatively dirt cheap. Depending on how long these really do last, I might buy another set of these to replace my cheap DD tires.

I must admit that for those drives that need the super grip, I swap my wheels/tires to the set that has my RE01R's that I got on Tirerack clearance. When these wear out, I will consider going with the Dunlop Z1 Starspec's or the Kumho XS's. Right now I am leaning towards the Z1's.
