Default Hankook RS-2 tyre

I just got a set of RS-2 tires sitting in my living room...
However, I found the 225/50/16 tire is just as wide as 245/45/16...
I wonder if this is right...
I could definitely tell that the 225 from Hankook is wider than 225 from AD07, S03, S02, and some others I have tried before.

But, if I run these, I guess I might get oversteer all the time since the front tire is just as wide as rear... plus.... I wonder if that size will fit in the car (front) since my car is lowered.

Whoever has tried the 225/50/16 front, please share...

It's funny that you posted this today. I just received mine and thought they looked damn big as I was rolling them into the garage. I took some pictures comparing brand new unmounted 225/50/16 to 6000 mile old 245/45/16's. The rest of the pics are in my gallery, but here's one:

I'd have to agree that they are very close in width, a lot closer than 20mm would seem.

They are wider but just a little bit. I didn't measure them but eyballed them to be about 1/8" wider. I'm getting the fronts mounted right now so hopefully it doesn't look wierd.

DONT DO IT! If you bought 225/50 RS2's for your fronts, I would strongly suggest you exchange them for 205/55's. I think i'm going to save the 225/50's for when my rears wear out, and order 205's for the front.

Care to elaborate on why not? I must be missing something, as your pic doesn't immediately jump out at me as a problem. I run 225 front and 245 rear RS-2 with a larger-than-stock front swaybaar and have no complaints.

SC, your front tire doesn't look like it's the wrong size? I guess my pictures aren't coming out very well. The front tire is huge compared to the rear. I have a 3finger wheel gap in the front, and over 4 fingers in the back. As far as handling goes, I love how easy it is to rotate the rear end around.

I'll try to get a full side shot later.

Thanks for this thread, keep the info coming.
I'm planning to go with a set of 205/55-16 and 245/45-16 as a track rian tire option.
