Default Help With Tire Fitment

I want to purchase new tires for my ap1. I have stock ap1 wheels. I want to go as wide as possible with staggered setup. I have stock suspension and dont want to add spacers. I welcome any and all input thanks.

I'd pickup some AP2 wheels and fit AP2 OEM size tires. Sure to improve handling and decrease oversteer. Otherwise stick with OEM tire sizes.

Just buy OEM sizes for the AP1 wheels. If you want more grip get a stickier tire. If you want wider buy ap2 wheels or something else that is wider.

You could run up to 225/50 front, 245/45 rear on AP1 wheels although the tires will be slightly pinched. The real issue is availability though, not really any good street tires in those sizes. RS3 in stock size would be good, hard to beat for the price. RE-71R is also available in stock size.

Bridgestone RE-11 are back in stock at tire rack in OEM 205/55/16 and 225/50/16 sizes. Great tire that fits the stock 16's perfectly.

How do these re11s drive and what's tire life like? Digging the stock ap1 wheels look, especially the jdm forged

I have the slightly different RE-11A tires (discontinued). The RE-71A tires are about $2 more a set than the RE-11s and tested better all around.

Tire life? In this category figure on 10K to 12K. Handling is paramount, not tire life.

RE-11 is more street oriented, RE-71R is more track oriented... slightly more road noise, shorter life, not quite as good in the wet or cold weather.

I've had RE-11 and RE-11A, they feel the same to me. Great street tire.

Also, RE-11 specs are closer to OEM S-02 specs. 225/50/16 RE-11 has a tread width of 8.3" compared to the RE-71R at 7.6".
