How long do tires last?
I just would not pay to rotate the ties. I don't think the side to side is going to offset the extra cost of mounting the tires. The ideas that were listed are all good ways of getting longer wear. You can always go with an all season tire and that is going to give you the longest tread life.
I will say there is nothing you can put on the rear of the car that is going to get 30K+ for tread life. The fronts will normally last twice as long as the rears.

..i used to have set of all season max performance tires..
i drove 12k miles , and most of the time i drove really hard..
and it looks still brand new like my nt-05 s now..
