HRE445s Installation
Installed a set of 18" HRE445s, 8.5" front, offset 52, 10" rear, offset 62, PIRELLI P-ZERO NERO tires, 235 front, 265 rear. Weight front, 42 pounds (stock was 40), rear 50 pounds (stock was 42). Suspension is stock. Initial driving impression: tires are quieter than stock S-02 Bridgestones and the car seems to ride the "bumps" better. Local favorite twisties suddenly seem not so twistie, but I'm not sure what that means (I think I drove a fast as I usually do, but the curves "disappeared"). I'll have to wear off the "newness" of the tires before they're really pushed.
Yeah have the same wheels and I hit the twisties Hard with S03s still need to break them in Good luck and keep me informed next Tire I might go all dry like aS02 or actually Yokohamas new Tire
The Neros are much quieter than the stock S-02s. The S2K feels more firmly planted in corners, but that's probably due to the increased width of the tires. I recently ran the route in the Fall Colors Tour (moderately insane group) and the tire/wheel combination performed flawlessly. Grip was exceptional and no rubbing during hard cornering. I'm certain I've could have pushed the tires much harder, but the Duchess County citizens suffered enough with 101 S2Ks tearing through the countryside.
