ideal width and offsets for 18"
help please,
i'm looking into buying ssr professors in 18". they say the size specified from the company is:
front: 18x7.5+43 215/40-18
rear: 18x8.5+55 225/40-18
i read through the wheel fitment guide and it seems these offsets might be too low. i did notice that the tire size they use seems smaller than recommended too, so maybe that will help keep it from not rubbing?
i'm not looking to race this car, but i was hoping to lower it a little bit and i don't want it to rub.
i've been told that i can get this wheel in any size/offset i want. so what would be the ideal width/offset for 18"? i'd like to have a staggered setup. are the widths okay at 7.5 and 8.5?

Going with those choices you posted up, the fronts will be fine, but the rear tires should be 245/35/18 to better match the front stagger and be nearly the same as OEM for speedo and odo readings.
The ideal widths and offsets, of course would be the OEM numbers:
Front:
17" x 7.0", +55 offset, 215 tire
Rear:
17" x 8.5", +65 offset, 245 tire
But if you want to go 18", then the tires should be .....
215/40/18 front and 245/35/18 rear.
One additional hitch: If you must have a 7.5" wide rim front, then you need to go a 205/40/18 tire to keep the same diameter.

We have carried the wheels and I didn't know they made those offsets and sizes for the S2K. What we showed was 18X8 ET49 and 18X9.5 ET55 for the car. I would stay with the 245/35R18 rear tires not matter what you run on the front. I would recomment 215/40R18 or 225/40R18.
