Default I'm using Sumitomo HTR Z rear

I have just (5 days ago) had Sumitomo 245/45/16 installed on the rears. Will be using them for daily driving purposes. I still have the original tires on the front. I have been concerned about having 2 different brands on the car. Took a test drive yesterday and I didn't notice much difference from the way it normally drives. I don't tend to drive my car hard or push the limits. I am more interested in trying to keep it clean, stock (except for the tires) and low miles/abuse. Anyway, I will be happy to pass on my experience with these tires later on.

My understanding with staggered tires is to match them with identical models. I belived the Sumitomos are not that expensive, so purchasing a new set of fronts should be under $200. I think that's cheap insurance should you ever feel your rear end braking loose. Remember, they are good tires, but you are replace great with good.

I got mine used with HTR Zs on it. So far no major complaints, of course the 225 HTR rears don't hook up as well as the S-02s so be careful. As for mixing the brands, it can be done but is not recommended. If you stick with your current set up, be careful if you do push the car at all.

I don't think it is as big of deal as some make it to be. I see you are using a 245/45 size so contact patch shouldn't change too much. Race cars often have diferent compound tires front to rear anyway.

I'm certain that driving dynamics will change slightly but I wouldn't be too worried.
Just take some time to get used to them.......
