Default Kuhmo SPT verses Hankook RS2

I am about ready to replace the rear tires on my MY04. I am looking at going with either the Kumho SPT or Hankook RS2 tire in size 255-40-17.
Both of these tires appear very similar in tread design, specs and price. I have searched many threads on this site , however I have found very little feedback on either tire.

I see that many of you looking for affordable replacement tires have gone with the Fuzion ZR1 tire, I guess I am looking for a more aggressive tire somewhere in between the performance/price of the OEM Bridgestone Re-050 and the Fuzion ZR1.

Any information on positive or negative aspects of these two tires would be much appreciated. Thanks.

i would have gotten a set if they did
they have 245-45-17 but the sidewall is too high

Thanks boyquan, I guess I need to get new reading glasses while I'm out buying tires.

Sounds like you were also interested in the RS2's, what did you end up buying instead?

You can take a look at the Avon Tech M500 as well. Check our site for what people are saying about the tire.

I bought some Hankook R-S2's size 225-50-R16 and 245-45-R16. I bought them from discount tire for 560 something installed. traction is aa and the treadwear is 200. The tires to me are amazing and not that I do it all the time but but these tires will jsut rocket into a corner at what seems to be any speed. Freeway ramps seriously seeem like turns on that ride on revolutution @ magic mountain. If you purchase them you wont be disappointed. ON the other hand I heard that falken azenis rt615 is the best to get and the fastest. grassroots motorsports did a test with many of the uhp tires and the only tires that was faster that azenis 215 was the azenis 615. bytheway my tires are really good in the rain.
