Default need new oem tires

I called a local tire store (gateway). Told them I need 4 new tires on OEM wheels on the s2k, and posted up the sizes that was on the "Correct Tire Size" they said its not possible and I would have to pick new sizes? im not sure why they said that. But i just need some cheap winter beater tires to get me through until I get some for my wheels im bringin out in the spring. What sizes should I go with? What brands?

Depends on what you're looking for. Without that info it's impossible to narrow down the available selection out there.

As for sizes, Tire Rack should give you the stock sizes for your year.

For the winter you should run the 205/55R16 and 225/50R16. If I can help let me know.

I ordered my snow tires, last year, from Jim. I used Dunlops and they served me quite well last winter.

Forget the "Correct Tire Size" stickie, it's outdated at best (counterproductive at worst). There are very few decent tires available in 245/45-16 which the stickie insists on for the rear, and the best tires in any category are only available in 225/50-16. Stock sizes are fine.

If you need tires to get you through winter, including snow, you need some good dedicated winter tires. I run Dunlop Winter Sports (3D front, M3 rear) on my '01 during the cold/snowy months, GREAT in the snow.
