Default New or Old tires for Driving School

I am looking at going to a driving school in about a month. Right now, I am between 1/32 and 2/32 of tread left on my tire.

It hasn't rained in atleast 3 weeks, and I don't have to drive too far to work if it does. So I am not very worried about the tread in relationship to driving in the rain.

I was wondering if tires with 1/32 of tread will be sticker than new tires? I know some people shave their tires, so I wasn't sure if 1/32 would be ok on a track.

Thanks for your time!

That's a bit thin....most track days/schools won't even let you on track with less than 3/32 or sometimes 2/32. Not only that but you'll go through a good amount of rubber and run the risk of getting down to the nylon if you don't have much tread left. I'd reccomend new tires.

Don't forget if you get new tires, you'd probably want some time to break them in before going to the driving school.

It is illegal to drive a car on public road with tread less than 2/32". You should change tires now so that you will have time to break them in before going to the driving school.
