New S2K owner
Hi guys,
Just purchased my S2K today and I collect it on the 5th April. It's completely standard bar an alloy radiator and a K&N panel filter. It needs a few little bits to clean her up such as slight bubbling on the arches.
I do plan on modifying it as I do all my cars, currently looking to get rid of my MR2 Tubby soon however I'd like to swap the wheels from the MR2 to my S2K but I'm a bit worried about fitment.
The wheels are JR 21's 17x8j ET30 fronts and 17x9j ET30 rears, will these fit okay on the S2K?
The tyres are 215/40/17 on the front and 245/40/17 on the rear.
I also plan on giving it a full service including chain when I pick her up!
I want to be pretty active in the community and meet other owners so I look forward to speaking with you and hopefully meeting you!

That's no problem! What would you recommend? Would you suggest sticking with the standard 16" diameter or going to 17's? I don't want to be rolling arches and stuff so just the maximum spec that would fill the arches really.

The easiest route is to just buy oem ap2 wheels with oem ap2 tire sizes and put them on your car. There is very few aftermarket choices that come in the right offsets to not modify the fenders. Enkei, Tsw, advan, volk, make some.

Yep, and there are reproduction "AP2V1" (2004-2005) wheels available at reasonable prices in the USA and, since they're no doubt made in PRC, probably in the UK as well. These have good, first hand reviews here. 2004 and later tires are 215R45 front and 245R40 (255R40 CR) rear. These have the same outside diameter as the 16" wheels and tires so stuff like anti-lock braking is not affected. You can go as wide as 225F and 255R without altering the car if you use these wheels.

I have 17x8 +54 front and 17x9 +63 rear Advan RSII (Volk CE28N is also available in that spec) with 225/45R17 front and 255/40R17 rear Bridgestone RE71R tyres (I had Bridgestone S04 Pole Positions and RE760 Sports before).
No rubbing with absolutely no fender modification.
My post history showed me rubbing on one side, but that ended up being my subframe being shifted out of place (check your subframe bolts if they are loose, there's a PSA by robrob in this forum. Also good time to install Spoon Subframe Rigid Collars). You would not rub with the setup I suggested.
IIRC there's a Best Motoring video that showed an AP1 performed better with 17" AP2 wheels compared to the 16" AP1 wheels.
